SN 22.1 Nakula-pitu: “But didn’t you feel the need to ask the Buddha the further question: ‘Sir, how do you define someone ailing in body and ailing in mind, and someone ailing in body and healthy in mind’?” (healthy in mind means not identifying with 5uk when 5uk of body decay and perish)
SN 22.2 Devadaha: monks want to migrate to another town, ask permission from Buddha. Sariputta then explains they need to be able to answer questions about Dhamma without distortion. The correct answers have to do with 4NT in terms of 5uk. Following Dhamma leads to good rebirth, not following leads to bad.
SN 22.3 Hāliddikāni 1: (name of householder): Mahakaccana explains a verse from atthakatha in KN Snp. And how is one a migrant without a shelter? The Realized One has given up any desire, greed, relishing, and craving for the form element (and all 5uk); any attraction, grasping, mental dedication, insistence, and underlying tendencies. He has cut it off at the root, made it like a palm stump, obliterated it, so it’s unable to arise in the future.
SN 22.4 Hāliddikāni 2: mahakaccana explains meaning of verse from 'sakkas question': “Householder, consider any desire, greed, relishing, and craving for the form element (and all 5uk); any attraction, grasping, mental dedication, insistence, and underlying tendencies. With the ending, fading away, cessation, giving away, and letting go of that, the mind is said to be ‘well freed’.
SN 22.5 Samādhi: A more detailed explantion of asavak-khaya from AN 4.41. “Mendicants, develop immersion. “samādhiṃ, bhikkhave, bhāvetha; A mendicant who has immersion truly understands. samāhito, bhikkhave, bhikkhu yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti. What do they truly understand? Kiñca yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti? The origin and ending of form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness. Rūpassa samudayañca atthaṅgamañca, vedanāya samudayañca atthaṅgamañca, saññāya samudayañca atthaṅgamañca, saṅkhārānaṃ samudayañca atthaṅgamañca, viññāṇassa samudayañca atthaṅgamañca.

SN 22.7 Upādāparitassanā 1: anxiety caused by clinging: They regard form as self, self as having form, form in self, or self in form. rūpaṃ attato samanupassati, rūpavantaṃ vā attānaṃ; attani vā rūpaṃ, rūpasmiṃ vā attānaṃ. Anxieties—born of latching on to the perishing of consciousness (and all 5uk) and originating in accordance with natural principles—don’t occupy their mind. Tassa na viññāṇavipariṇāmānuparivattijā paritassanā dhammasamuppādā cittaṃ pariyādāya tiṭṭhanti. So they don’t become frightened, worried, concerned, or anxious because of grasping. Cetaso apariyādānā na cevuttāsavā hoti na ca vighātavā na ca apekkhavā, anupādāya ca na paritassati. That’s how not grasping leads to freedom from anxiety.”
SN 22.8 Upādāparitassanā 2: like previous sutta, except uses this selfing formula -> And how does grasping lead to anxiety? kathañca, bhikkhave, upādāparitassanā hoti? It’s when an uneducated ordinary person regards form like this: ‘This is mine, I am this, this is my self.’ Idha, bhikkhave, assutavā puthujjano rūpaṃ ‘etaṃ mama, esohamasmi, eso me attā’ti samanupassati.
SN 22.9 Atītānāgata 1: past & future: Consciousness of the past and future is impermanent, Viññāṇaṃ aniccaṃ atītānāgataṃ; not to mention the present. ko pana vādo paccuppannassa. Seeing this, a learned noble disciple doesn’t worry about past consciousness, Evaṃ passaṃ, bhikkhave, sutavā ariyasāvako atītasmiṃ viññāṇasmiṃ anapekkho hoti; doesn’t look forward to enjoying future consciousness, anāgataṃ viññāṇaṃ nābhinandati; and they practice for disillusionment, dispassion, and cessation regarding present consciousness.”
